BIOGRAPHY
Being confronted with the artistic achievements of all the past masters, one might easily get disillusioned as a young artist these days and choosing a career respectively may seem like an unlikely choice.
But if you feel the call to express yourself and create things corresponding to your visions, there is no way escaping it.
In his early teens Michael Moser discovers that he can express his emotions by means of pictures far better than through words. Certain states of minds, sensations and situations that he experiences especially in his dreams, seem ineffable and so he starts to make his visions come alive. Very early he develops his own, typical technique, which defines his unique style.
Being intrigued with Rohrschachtest ink blots, he becomes aware that the results gained are open to a wide range of interpretations. By incorporating symmetrical stylistic elements resembling these ink blots, he notices that there is a great potential to portrait individuals regardless of their physical appearance.
Feeling a constant need to create something new, every now and then he tries hard to break away from his very own stylistic idiosyncrasies to step outside his comfort zone. Needless to say that this quest is a never ending task. But that’s what being an artist is all about.
His oeuvre includes typical, black graffiti-like outlines and organic dynamics, tragicomic characters, hidden details, symbols resembling mysterious fonts and visual stories.
After finishing off high school, he attends a graphic design college in Salzburg, studying the basics of desktop publishing, corporate design, illustration and photography, to name just a few. For the last few years he’s been focusing on oversized installation art objects, hand-crafted out of several fabrics and other materials.
He creates bizarre forms assembled in huge dynamic systems up to thirty meters in diameter. Every single fragment is nothing without the other parts.
Combining these objects with his paintings and projections, he designs unique multimedia concepts for events, festivals and markets, in order to let the visitors immerse in other worlds.
